Learning Assistant
The learning assistants are students that are responsible for assisting course instructors with the design, implementation, dissemination, and revision of evidence-based teaching practices in their courses. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience: Some college experience; Must be enrolled in or have successfully completed TCED 4200 - The Science of Teaching and Learning in STEM Courses. Preferred Education and/or Experience: They must have successfully completed qualifying STEM courses for which they are applying to be Learning Assistants unless otherwise approved by the course instructor. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assist course instructors in designing evidence-based teaching practices for the course instructor's classes; Assist course instructors in implementing evidence-based teaching practices in the course instructor's class (either in class or in workshop or in lab); Meet with the course instructor at least once a week to provide feedback and plan for the next week's tasks; Guide students in the course instructor's class as they learn course material. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Ability to creatively solve problems; Ability to work as part of a team; Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback. Salary Information:
