Position Summary: Maintaining instrumentation used for analysis (GC/HPLC or other); prepping samples for various analytical methods; analyzing/prepping quality control samples, standards, and client samples to ensure all regulatory and client requirements are met; reviewing and assembling data in an efficient manner with a high degree of quality; evaluating current organizational and analytical systems; suggesting and implementing corrective action to ensure that prep and/or analysis are performed in alignment with client and/or regulatory requirements; performing all duties with minimal supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Applies good laboratory practices in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate Demonstrates and promotes the company vision Regular attendance and punctuality Perform prep/analysis (both routine and non-routine) using a variety of instrumental/wet chemistry techniques Perform basic troubleshooting of prep and analysis when performance problems are encountered Analyze/prep samples and QC for routine testing Review, work up, and assemble all supporting data for work performed Review and amend departmental SOPs that conform to company and regulatory requirements as requested Perform basic maintenance on equipment used for routine work Read, understand, and carry out SOPs required by EPA or company methods, governing agencies, clients, and our internal QC department Understand and use the LIMS Prepare standard solutions Use word processor and spreadsheet programs on PC Train others in the department in procedures related to operations listed above Assist other chemists with their workload as assigned or requested Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner Performs other duties as assigned Work overtime as workload requires Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience, or 5-7 years of relevant experience; 1-2 years of experience with instrumental analysis or extractions. Previous experience in a lab setting Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English. Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship Ideal Candidates will have: 1+ years of experience with LC/MS-MS Some previous PFAS experience Strong written and oral communications skills Experience with quality control and safety procedures Additional Information
