Radiology Technologist
The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans of patient's internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Executes radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and provides consultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Job responsibilities include: Interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Appropriately positioning radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment. Explaining radiographic procedure to the patient, obtaining complete and accurate history relevant to the examination to being performed. Communicating effectively with the patient. Providing staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/aprons in order to limit radiation exposure. Implementing and monitoring local, state and national regulations, standards, requirements and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services. Maintaining x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documenting results. Maintaining and updating patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handling patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality. Performing other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control. Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positions. Other duties as assigned. Minimum education and experience requirements: Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred. Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities required): Knowledge of RIS systems Knowledge of PAC's systems Salary range: $0.00 to $285.00. The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
