Production Scheduling and Coordination Develop, release, and maintain daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to balance customer orders, inventory targets, and resource capacity constraints. Coordinate with Production Supervisor to confirm schedule adherence and proactively adjust plans to resolve conflicts or delays. Act as the primary communication bridge between Customer Service and Production, providing clear updates on order status, lead times, and delivery commitments. Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the ERP system (Microsoft GP) to ensure visibility and accountability. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to optimize scheduling efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance throughput. Support lean initiatives, including Kanban, and visual management systems on the production floor. Analyze production trends and capacity utilization to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous process refinement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and standardize best practices. Material and Inventory Coordination Review material requirements to confirm that appropriate components and raw materials are available to meet schedule demands. Support cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of variances to improve material accuracy. Generate and interpret reports on production performance, schedule attainment, and capacity metrics. Communicate these reports to senior leadership. Purchasing Support (Backfill) Learn the fundamentals of purchasing processes, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and communicating with suppliers. Serve as a backup to the Buyer during absences or periods of high workload to ensure procurement continuity. Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of production planning, scheduling, or materials management in a manufacturing environment. Experience in an OEM or industrial products company preferred. ERP Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft GP experience preferred. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts, MRP methodologies, and process improvement tools. Ability to grasp manufacturing end-to-end processes/lead times, and learn the nuance within the operations. Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments.
