Responsibilities and Accountabilities Proactively monitor and research pending legislation and regulations of importance to Arch's business units and lines of authority and keeping Arch informed Tracking, analyzing, and anticipating P&C insurance developments and trends of impact to Arch and its business units. Help develop Arch's policy perspective and communicating that internally and externally. This may include the drafting of talking points, policy memoranda, comment letters, or other advocacy content. Work with various trade associations to represent Arch's concerns and priorities. Identify political, legislative, and regulatory risks and opportunities. Maintain the legislative and regulatory change management system, analyzing for application and internally distributing content as appropriate. Develop and execute strategic plans and solutions to recognize policy risks and opportunities, define, protect, and advance Arch's objectives and reputation. Publish internal written communications regarding regulatory and legislative matters. Develop a strong understanding of Arch P&C insurance products, services, and business strategies to effectively identify issues impacting Arch's interests. Required Skills/Experience Working knowledge of P&C insurance industry. Understanding of state legislative and regulatory agencies including insurance department personnel and processes. Analysis and research skills to determine the impact of legislative and regulatory proposals on Arch. Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on internal and external matters. Strategic mindset. Ability to understand impacts and outcomes and course correct in response. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point; familiarity with remote access tools (VPN) and other web-based tools. Education/Experience 5 years of professional experience including 2 plus years in the state and/or federal government and/or government relations. P&C insurance industry knowledge. College Degree - BS, BA or MBA. Paralegal experience - desired. The base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible. $79,900 - $107,900/year Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
