Vascular Sonographer
Perform high quality ultrasound exams as a Vascular Sonographer to deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to the advancement of cardiovascular imaging. Uses independent judgement, and has thorough understanding of the equipment and positioning to provide optimum service to patients and providers. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions and concerns during and following procedures. Principle Responsibilities: Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines including: Identifies patient with two identifiers. Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure. Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs. Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area. Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy: Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment. Maintains work knowledge and competence. Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images. Verifies all images has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system. Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure. Complies with other position requirements: Maintains fleet driver requirements including driver training/fleet safety policies in Learning Management System. Maintains RVT/ARDMS credentialing. Evaluates equipment for proper performance. Mentors students and orients new staff, communicating with supervisor as needed. Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work of others. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited professional health care program 3 to 5 years performing vascular ultrasound Licenses/Certifications: Certified Ultrasound Technician - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) upon hire and Registered Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required RVT upon hire and BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire Maintains fleet driver requirements and valid driver's license if working in MHI Mobile Department Physical Demands: Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently Pay Range: Pay Range: $39.19 to $53.72 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
