Pay: $14.41 Hourly Job Summary: Under general direction, assists in conducting recreational activities with assigned groups in the recreation center by performing the following duties. Job Description: Essential Job Functions Answer incoming phone calls and assist with making reservations and helps enroll participants in classes. Maintain the cleanliness of the Center, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning the restrooms. Also stocking the restrooms and other areas. Maintain a good working relationship with the Center staff and outside instructors by being courteous, helpful and visible in the time of need. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of Center programs. Able to be tactful when dealing with the public and treat others in a courteous manner; to work on own when given instructions. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a four year high school with a diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and be at least eighteen years of age. Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: None required. Certificates, License, Registrations: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock.
