Psych Tech (Day Shift)
Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking day shift Psych Tech candidates to join the clinical teams at the following programs: Crisis Recovery Unit (CRU) : an adult residential mental health facility for men and women that operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Located in Layton, Utah. Davis County Receiving Center (RC) : a 23-72 hour alternative to inpatient hospitalization or incarceration that specializes in short-term crisis resolution. Psych Techs are front-line support staff who work directly with clients experiencing behavioral health crises by engaging with clients individually, managing the milieu, attending to client needs, providing supervision of clients, de-escalating crisis situations, working in coordination with other service providers on the unit, and maintain a positive recovery environment. Active engagement with clients is a minimum expectation for Psych Techs in all programs at DBH. Essential job functions include: Regulate emotion, manage impulsivity, and assist clients in learning other skills that will increase their success in their home and community. Manage milieu on the unit. Take crisis calls. Facilitate skills development groups. Assist professional staff in group activities. Assist clients in accomplishing treatment objectives as outlined by clinical staff. Record behaviors and activities. Ensure compliance with developed programs and individual treatment plans. Act as a liaison between clients, family, and professional staff. Providing monitoring of client's behaviors and consequences for clients as needed. Provide supervision and structure for clients on site as well as off unit. Drive a 15-passenger van and transport clients to meetings and approved off-unit activities. These positions are all classified as non-exempt. Full-time employees are expected to work 40 hours per week. The assigned schedule varies by position and is outlined in the job posting on the DBH Employment page. Strong preference will be given to candidates who are bi-lingual English/Spanish; however, this is not a requirement. A Spanish-language incentive stipend is available for candidates who successfully pass a Spanish-language assessment upon hire. Compensation
The hourly rate for this position, based on the established minimum qualifications, is outlined below: $19.00 per hour Compensation is based on the shift and related differential, so if an employee hired to work a swing shift moves to either a day or graveyard/weekend shift, the hourly rate is adjusted automatically in the payroll system. Psych Techs at both the CRU and Receiving Center are eligible for shift differential compensation, as outlined below: Swing Shift Monday through Friday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am shifts 2% shift differential Graveyard and Weekends Monday through Friday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am or 12:00 am to 8:00 All shifts on Saturday and Sunday Weekend differentials are not in addition to other shift differentials. 15% On-call Per Diem
Part-time psych techs who are scheduled for a specific on-call shift are eligible to receive a $20 per diem for each on-call shift they are scheduled. The per diem is compensated on a monthly basis during the pay period in which the last day of the month falls. When an employee is called in during one of their on-call shifts, they are expected to arrive on the unit within 30 minutes of the call. When contacted to provide coverage before the start of a shift, the expectation is that the employee arrives at the scheduled start time of that shift. On-call shifts are considered scheduled shifts and employees must be available to work when called in. It is the responsibility of the employee to coordinate with the program supervisor if they are unable to fulfill their on-call shift due to illness or other circumstances. Per diem compensation will not be paid if an employee calls out during an on-call shift or does not respond when called. Professional References

Minimum Requirements The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department. Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana. Previous experience working as a psych tech or in the social work industry is strongly preferred. DBH utilizes an electronic medical health records system, so computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required. High school graduation and one year of full-time employment in a related clerical field. Microsoft Word and Outlook knowledge preferred. Typing a net of 35-40 wpm preferred but not mandatory.
