The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Senior Manager, UI/UX, you will lead the design vision, strategy, and execution for our healthcare technology products. This role will oversee user experience and interface design for complex, data-rich applications used by healthcare providers, payers, and patients. ensuring our products are not only beautiful and intuitive, but also compliant, accessible, and impactful in improving healthcare outcomes. Key Responsibilities Define and own the company-wide UI/UX strategy for web, mobile, and multi-device healthcare applications. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of UI/UX designers, researchers, and interaction designers. Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to ensure design aligns with product vision and healthcare workflows. User Experience Strategy & Research Establish and oversee user research programs, including usability testing, contextual inquiry, and ethnographic research in healthcare settings. Translate research findings into actionable design requirements and user journey maps. Champion accessibility (WCAG, Section 508) and inclusive design principles. Design Execution & Governance Drive creation and evolution of design systems and UI pattern libraries to ensure visual and functional consistency across products. Oversee the design of high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, and interactive demos. Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure design fidelity during implementation. Healthcare Domain Expertise Ensure all designs address healthcare usability standards, regulatory considerations, and patient safety concerns. Advocate for workflows that reduce cognitive load for clinicians and administrative staff. Incorporate healthcare-specific terminology, visual cues, and decision-support elements into product experiences. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or related field. 8+ years in UI/UX design, with at least 35 years in a design leadership role. Proven track record designing for complex enterprise or SaaS applications; healthcare industry experience strongly preferred. Expertise in user-centered design methods, design thinking, and agile product development environments. Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision). 5+ years of experience managing direct reports (hiring, performance reviews, etc.) Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Experience creating and managing large-scale design systems. Familiarity with healthcare IT standards (FHIR, HL7) and EHR/EMR system usability. Experience working in regulated environments with HIPAA, HITRUST, or FDA compliance considerations.
