Quantum Pain and Orthopedics- McAllen is looking for a Scheduler/Rad Tech to join our team! Responsible for checking-out patient and understanding patient needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly, plus responsible for operating x-ray and fluoroscopic equipment under direction of the Medical Director/Physician. Essential Functions:
Scheduler: Communicates with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure Follows-up and ensures all documentation is obtained Verifies if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures Schedules and/or reschedules patient follow-ups and procedures Coordinates transportation for our procedure patients, if needed Inform and provide patient with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure date Follows-up on all Canceled or No-Show Patients Check-out patients Sends prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or email Move patients through appointments as scheduled Answer telephone and deal with inquiries Update patients' information into database Scans and files into patient docs on eCW H&P, Orders, Procedure Document, and prescriptions, if applicable under RX folder Manage filing and record keeping activities Updates daily log for all patients' office visits Updates daily log of all patients who have confirmed procedures Submits information to verification department for pre-authorization Ensures completeness and accuracy of patients' forms Report statistics as required Travels as necessary to other facilities Radiologic Technologist: Set up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients Select proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis Positions patient and set up and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician Takes preventative steps to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and fellow staff Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure Regulates the length and intensity of film exposure Positions and restrains patients; and takes X-rays of patients' chest, limbs, or other body parts as requested by the physicians Implements infection control procedures for the work area Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and facility policy Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed equipment Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards Assures that all materials and other required equipment are present and in working order Follows all safety rules on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace Performs other duties as assigned as per discretion of medical provider and facility Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCW Strong attention to detail: being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks Ability to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending one oneself to get things done Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures Knowledge of human anatomy Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required Ability to respond quickly, physically, and mentally when priorities and /or the patient's condition changes Ability to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues Ability to maintain accurate patient records Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED One (1) year of experience in a medical office scheduling setting Six (6) months of experience as a Radiology Technologist Valid Texas Driver's License Offered Benefits:
