Information Systems Security Engineer (Isse)
The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) positions support establishment and implementation of security engineering for over thirty (30) systems and services owned and operated by the government customer division. This includes coordination with ISSOs, SSAs and the government customer system teams to ensure security engineering for development of a new capability or system and modifications of an existing capability or system in order to satisfy the government agency security controls and security mandates. Skills: Demonstrated ability to brief diverse audiences on technical matters and convey information clearly and concisely Experience preparing written reports and oral presentations for designed projects for presentation to a variety of individuals within and outside the organization Expert level of understanding of cloud security providers and secure engineering and design of cloud-based solutions via automation Experience and working knowledge of security for cloud technologies and services, specifically AWS and Microsoft AZURE Expert level experience and knowledge of government security standards and industry best practices including the NIST RMF and NIST security and privacy controls. Experience conducting industry research to create detailed reports, whitepapers, and technical comparisons Working knowledge of agile development methodology specifically including Scaled-Agile Framework (SAFe), lean systems development, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodology Significant hands-on experience implementing, operating, and maintaining infrastructure and applications Experience within diverse teams of architects, developers and integrators Experience leading or co-leading technology projects with enterprise dependencies Experience developing, maintaining, and revising policies and guidelines relating to information security Required Qualifications: Active Top Secret Clearance required 10+ years of experience in IT security or a related field Preferred Certifications: Master's degree in IT-related field Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) highly recommended Cloud certification preferred Overview
We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), Senior in support of a government customer that manages the minimum baseline information system security controls to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the government agency's computer systems, networks, and information are maintained and supports the assurance of secure information sharing within the customer and its partners. The team is managing and modernizing a life-cycle security model that develops, maintains, and disposes of information systems, services, and data, and safeguards their confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The team also manages the minimum baseline Information System security controls to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the government agency's computer systems.
