Plant Layout Engineer - Level 3
Aeronautics Company, Georgia Bachelors degree from an accredited college Minimum design experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility including equipment layouts, and/or mechanical, electrical and plumbing construction. Experienced in using CAD to produce layouts and construction documents (Examples - Microstation/AutoCAD/Catia) Knowledge of building codes and standards Project Management experience in working a strategic project from conception to completion Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Prepares layouts, plans, installation/construction drawings, estimates and oversees the installation, and reconfiguration of equipment, aircraft production and support areas, machinery, buildings, structures, shop areas and other facilities to address strategic and established program opportunities Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, project requirements, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility Completes accurate field measurements and verifications Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings for large construction projects Present plans to Leadership. Prepares statements of work for equipment and construction. Reviews and approves plans, estimates, designs and design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs Manages contractors on projects Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules Works with represented labor to perform small projects Provide technical support to the Plant Engineering Organization Provide Quality Control for Purchase Requisitions and On Call Release documents before receipt by Supply Chain Management and Facilities Engineering Management support items. Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails. Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required. Vision/Hearing: Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for positions. Environmental: Able to work around noise, chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including hearing protection if required. Able to work outside if needed. Attendance: Regular attendance required based on set work schedule. Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to operate as required. Acts as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope. May coordinate the work of employees assigned to the project.
