Nature And Scope

Under the direction of the Overnight Camp Executive Director, the Overnight Camp Facilities Maintenance Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight and daily operations of all physical assets at YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton. The role is integral to both the off-season retreat business and the successful operation of summer camp. The Facilities Maintenance Manager manages maintenance personnel, oversees capital improvement efforts, monitors safety and compliance, and provides a clean and functional space for campers, staff, and guests. Responsibilities (Including, But Not Limited To):

Oversight and daily operations of all physical assets at YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton. This includes buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, vehicles, and equipment. Plan and execute daily, seasonal, and preventative maintenance across all camp infrastructure. Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for routine and emergency repairs. Lead capital projects, including budget preparation, bidding, and supervision. Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and safety of all buildings, trails, and outdoor areas. Develop, manage, and monitor facilities and capital improvement budgets. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, compliance reports, and warranties. Advise executive leadership on facility condition, project needs, and long-term strategy. Hire, train, and supervise full-time and seasonal maintenance staff and volunteers. Provide ongoing coaching in safety practices, equipment use, and service excellence. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a positive, productive team culture. Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal building, fire, and health regulations. Coordinate inspections and certifications with appropriate agencies. Lead emergency response related to facility breakdowns, storms, and other incidents. Oversee vehicle and equipment inspections and maintenance according to YMCA standards. Support camp program teams with facilities access, setup, and readiness. Remain on call during the summer season to assist with urgent repairs or safety concerns. Actively contribute to the camp's mission of delivering a safe, transformative youth experience. Requirements:

Associate degree in facility management, building construction or a related field and 3+ years of experience in facility or building management OR High School Diploma/GED, a certificate of Facilities Management and 5+ years of experience in facility or building management 3+ years of professional experience in facilities management, construction, maintenance, or similar field Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and infrastructure systems Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills Ability to develop and manage operational and capital budgets Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, fire code, and building safety standards Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (or obtained within 30 days of hire) YMCA Team Leader Certification (obtained during 1st year of employment) Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. CDL preferred or willingness to obtain Must be available for emergency on-call duties and work irregular hours as needed. Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Regular physical demands include lifting to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, bending, walking uneven terrain, and using hand/power tools. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and outdoors for extended periods. Work will include nights, weekends, and holidays during peak camp seasons.
