Part-Time Childcare Position

Northampton Community College's Reibman Hall Children's Center is seeking a warm, reliable, and energetic individual to join our early childhood education team as a Part-Time Childcare Staff Member. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily classroom operations and fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times Support lead and assistant teachers in daily classroom routines, including transitions, activities, and group times Interact with children in a developmentally appropriate and respectful manner Assist in planning and implementing learning experiences that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Assist with toileting, diapering, and mealtime routines as needed Communicate positively and professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required Help with classroom documentation and observations under the guidance of lead teaching staff Uphold all licensing regulations, college policies, and health and safety protocols Schedule: Part-time position; scheduled Monday through Friday A typical shift is approximately 6 hours per day, within the center's operating hours of 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM Shift times may vary depending on classroom and program needs Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to meet all PA state childcare clearances and health requirements, including background checks and TB test Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development in a nurturing environment We are excited to welcome a new team member who is committed to supporting young children and collaborating with a dedicated group of educators.
