As a Branch Operations Manager (PSM), you're not just overseeing a locationyou're driving performance, optimizing efficiency, and leading a high-impact team that keeps industries moving. Your leadership will shape operations, enhance customer relationships, and fuel business growth in the material handling industry. This role demands strategic vision, operational excellence, and a hands-on approach to managing both people and processes. Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Branch Growth Oversee Branch Performance

Lead all branch functions, including service, parts, rental, and sales support, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Optimize Workflow & Efficiency

Streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance service delivery to maximize branch performance. Financial & Budget Oversight

Manage P&L, monitor expenses, oversee pricing, and ensure profitability while maintaining high service standards. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with Sales, Service, and Corporate teams to align strategies, resolve challenges, and enhance overall business performance. Team Leadership & Development Build & Mentor High-Performing Teams

Recruit, train, and develop a strong team of technicians, support specialists, and branch personnel. Set Goals & Foster Accountability

Establish clear objectives, track team performance, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and achievement. Lead Training & Development

Provide hands-on mentorship, technical guidance, and structured learning opportunities to empower employee growth. Customer & Business Impact Customer Engagement & Relationship Building

Act as the face of WMH, working directly with customers to ensure satisfaction, resolve concerns, and drive retention. Strategic Sales & Market Expansion

Develop and implement plans to increase market share, enhance customer relationships, and boost revenue. Vendor & Supplier Coordination

Build partnerships with vendors, manage procurement processes, and oversee invoicing and purchase orders. Safety, Compliance & Operations Excellence Ensure Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Uphold OSHA standards, implement best practices, and maintain a safe work environment. Facility & Fleet Management

Oversee maintenance, repairs, and optimization of branch facilities, equipment, and fleet. Monitor & Report Key Metrics

Prepare insightful performance reports, track operational success, and drive data-driven improvements. You've got it - close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, and a knack for adjusting focus. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education: High School Diploma or GED (required); preferred 7-10+ years of sales/service management experience in industrial equipment. Industry Experience: Extensive background in Material Handling, Parts, or Service Management (highly preferred). Management & Leadership: 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, team development, operational efficiency & management experience, with supervisory experience overseeing 2-6 direct reports and 10-15 technicians (preferred) Operational & Strategic Oversight: Ability to manage branch operations, optimize workflows, and drive performance metrics. Customer-Centric Approach: Proven ability to engage with customers, understand their needs, and enhance satisfaction and retention. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable industry standards (preferred). Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of forklifts, material handling equipment, and product management. Leadership & Team Development

Proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead high-performing teams with a focus on growth and accountability. Time Management & Organization: Strong ability to multitask, manage priorities, and adapt to changing conditions while maintaining efficiency. Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively. Technical & Technology Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Windows-based systems, CRM systems, & operational management software. Customer-Centric Mindset

Ability to build strong relationships, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive retention through exceptional service. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills to assess challenges, implement solutions, and optimize branch performance. Safety & Compliance Commitment: Dedication to upholding industry standards, workplace safety, operational best practices, and compliance with government regulations. Valid Driver's License & Travel Readiness: Required for occasional travel (20%), including product demonstrations, customer visits, and branch operations support. Industry-Specific Experience
