Staff UI Architect

The Staff UI Architect is responsible for leading the development of best in class user experiences for our medical diagnostic testing device products. As a UI Architect you will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and engineering teams to deliver seamless user experiences. This position is part of the Software Engineering department and will be located in Sunnyvale, California. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Define and implement scalable, modular, and maintainable front-end architectures. Establish best practices for component-based architecture, state management, and performance optimization. Ensure seamless integration of UI components with backend services. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, promoting code quality and architectural excellence. Work closely with product owners, UX designers, product management, and Human Factors Engineering to ensure they conceptualize and deliver a product that exceeds both usability and functional design requirements. The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience. 12+ years of software development experience in Java with 5+ years of recent experience working with Angular as a Senior Engineer/Architect or similar role. Proven experience in developing complex web applications using Angular 14+, with proficiency in TypeScript, Angular components, modules, services, RxJS, NgRx, state management, lazy loading, and dynamic components. In-depth knowledge of Angular material components, themes, configurations and experience in customizing the default Angular material themes and creating custom themes. Proficiency in front-end web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles and experience with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Prior experience in software development in regulated industry such as medical devices Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
