Information Manager .

The Information Manager is the key Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) staff member that collects, produces and disseminates industry news of interest to Council members. This technical writing/production position also keeps the trucking industry abreast of news and developments occurring within TMC. This position works with membership, press, government contacts, and industry and manufacturing contacts as related to the trucking industry in general and maintenance and technology issues in particular. This position may interact with Council members, government agencies, such as DOT, NHTSA, FMCSA and others, members of the press, allied ATA organizations, outside vendors, such as printers, and other ATA staff members, such as Staff Specialist, Engineering, etc. This position has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

The incumbent is expected to adhere to company policy and procedures, promote and foster a team-based work environment. He/She will demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and have the ability to manage and prioritize workload. He/She will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional disposition. He/She must consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position.

This position is required to work onsite Monday and Tuesday, and is encouraged to work in the office a third day. The functions of this position require that more than three days be spent in office leading up to busy times at TMC (such as before TMC's Fall and Annual meetings). Travel to TMC's annual and fall meetings is expected.

CORE FUNCTIONS: Responsible for writing, editing and producing the following in both print and electronic versions; TMC Fleet Adviser; Fleet Maintenance & Technology; The Trailblazer and the Exhibit Directory & Industry Reference Guide. These periodicals are important TMC member benefits. This position produces these publications through the use of software/hardware as described under "Skills Requirements" and creative/editorial talent. Contributes to council image/photo/video library. Appropriate images/video segments are vital to the success of all Council publications and outreach efforts. This will include videos for online broadcast, delivered via eblasts, website postings and other channels as appropriate. Contributes to the successful execution of council meetings, events, and development of council products and reports. This activity supports the Council's meeting, exhibit, and product efforts, which represent the majority of TMC's annual revenue. Solicits advertisers for TMC's Exhibit Directory & Industry Reference Guide and Council magazine. Contributes to maintenance of Council's website, social media platforms (e.g., TMC Connect, Facebook, etc.) using Microsoft SharePoint, Higher Logic and other site administration tools. This includes posting stories, items of interest and images/videos. Writing, editing, producing and disseminating of council press releases, in coordination with ATA's Office of Public Affairs and other appropriate departments. Press releases are important to the dissemination of Council news, such as product availability and meeting promotion.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Relevant Experience- BA/BS in Journalism or relevant college discipline required. Must have least 3 to 5 years experience in similar position.

Skill Requirements- Working knowledge of professional editorial, video, and design/desktop publishing-related software, including: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.); Apple iMovie/Final Cut Pro, Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to translate technical material into useful information suitable for council membership. Knowledge of automotive/commercial vehicle/trucking industry preferred, but not necessarily required.
