Fire Designer - Trainee

Retirement Program 401K Matching (3%) A safety-first, family-like workplace Paid Holidays (6 Days) and PTO Employer-paid life and AD&D insurance A diverse internal training program, Jet University, is available to the team Duties/Responsibilities: Make design decisions based on design parameters from the Leads Make informed decisions in the design of Fire Sprinkler systems based on standards and practices Design systems based on standards, codes, design constraints, and intents, plans, reading Jet Fire methods, and field installation standards. Attend job sites as necessary to learn installation methods and help with quality control Utilize Jet Fire design details, standards, and parameters as set forth by the VP, GM, and Design Manager. Utilize CAD/REVIT system training and Jet Fire design standards for designing fire sprinkler systems. Complete understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Architectural/Engineering terminology. Prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans, calculations, and detailed drawings from Architectural, Structural, and MEP drawings for engineering purposes, according to specified dimensions by Computer Aided Design (CAD/REVIT) system. Provide details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction. Provide a complete stock listing for all materials required for the construction of the designs Create Estimates for fire sprinkler projects, as needed. Utilize job guidelines as described per Jet Fire procedures and standards. Utilize Jet Fire CAD Standards and apply all applicable Building/Fire codes to all drawings. Apply all adjustments or changes as directed by the Design Manager or Lead Designer. Utilize knowledge of various drafting packages and software to produce sprinkler designs. Complete head layout and estimate sheet for building projects, as needed Other duties as assigned by the VP, General Manager, and/or Design Manager Required Qualifications/Skills: Minimum 1 year CADD drafting certificate from an accredited institution or 2 years minimum CADD/REVIT drafting on-the-job training. An associate's degree in CADD is preferred. Construction-related experience preferred. Intimate knowledge of AutoCAD and its operations. Strong basic knowledge of Revit and operations. Familiarity with Bluebeam and other PDF editing software. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Knowledge of and ability to use all Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge of construction techniques and methods is preferred. Safe work habits. Ability to stay organized. Reliable transportation. Active Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Basic Proficiency in English required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of English for safety purposes and to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on-site effectively. The ability to follow instructions and engage with the team is essential for success in this role.
