Department: Emergency Work Hours: Part Time position, works combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts for a total of 20 hours per pay period. Rotating days/evenings/nights. Steady nightshift schedule available if preferred. Weekends and holiday coverage as per department guidelines. Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, multiple Point of Care test(s) monitoring, bladder catheterization, venipuncture, and transcribing orders. Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (proof of completion required) or a nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent bedside manner and customer service skills. BCLS. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment. Preferred: Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), Computer skills.
