A Day in the Life: As a Hospital Coordinator, you will help oversee assignments and completion of duties and tasks for daily operations. You will assist with staff and volunteer training. You will work with leadership and HR to identify, resolve, and/or escalate issues. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and maintain open lines of communication with veterinarians, employees, and AHS leadership. You will set the example for technicians by assisting with medical care and monitoring of the health and welfare of animals under the direction of staff veterinarians in a shelter environment. You will assist the veterinarians in all aspects of Trauma Hospital, including surgery, radiology, dentistry, laboratory diagnostics, client education, clinic asepsis, fluid therapy, and the administration of prescribed medications. Job Requirements: High school diploma/GED required. At least 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or shelter medicine required. Completion of a veterinary technician program preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must be proficient in anesthesiology. Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy, immunology, parasitology, endocrinology, pharmacology, and perform safe and humane animal handling. Must have excellent attention to detail, be able to solve complex problems, with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and be able to resolve conflict. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual skills helpful. Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to hear above the sound of the animals. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.
