About the role: As a Sr AI Engineer, you will positively impact our customers and end users by utilizing machine learning (ML) and Generative AI techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong foundations in computer science, algorithms, ML/NLP, superb communication skills, relevant industry experience and a proven track record of delivery under tight deadlines. Responsibilities: Evaluate, adapt, and develop new state of the art language and/or multimodal foundation models for enterprise applications Perform thorough empirical analysis of the approach and write production ready code Develop, modify and fine-tune ML/NLP and pre-trained enterprise-grade large language models (LLMs) and multi-modal models Ensure the developed models seamlessly integrate with other tools and company products and are aligned with the feedback that will be generated from enterprise customers Specify guidelines and design annotation processes for data; collaborate with data team on data preprocessing, consumption, and automated/manual annotations Evaluate product and algorithm performance using industry standard approaches and develop new evaluation paradigms; build up competencies comparing results of more complex approaches Collaborate with other teams, provide input, and contribute to the delivery of AI services for critical projects Write concise, readable, and modular code, continually improving the code, requiring minimal revision when moved to production Manage large datasets, address and resolve quality issues, and interpret data with a focus on business goals Develop clear documentation of the work plan, its evolution, and results Regularly read and assess publications on existing methods, and compare internal solutions to alternative methods Qualifications & Skills: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields plus minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in artificial intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Vision and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) In-depth knowledge of deep learning (DL) with expertise in PyTorch /TensorFlow In-depth understanding of Transformers, hands-on experience with the Hugging Face library, and the ability to solve NLP and ASR problems using LLMs Experience working with large datasets, addressing quality issues, and interpreting data with a focus on business goals Expertise in Python programming Hands-on experience in developing production-ready, scalable code Ability to lead projects independently and mentor and guide other team members Knowledge of deployment using environments such as: Docker, AWS, or Kubernetes Good communication skills Benefits: Uniphore offers a competitive offer and premium benefits, including insurance, pre-IPO options, leave and other perks. Hiring Range: $169,800 - $233,500 - for Primary Location of USA - CA - Palo Alto. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidates qualifications and prior experience.
