EMS Internship Opportunity

In collaboration with our partners at SWIC, HSHS Emergency Department is offering a 16-week EMS Internship. During this internship, interns will work under direction of an ED RN and ED Tech 2 performing patient care needs as deemed competent. Your time at HSHS as an intern will count towards your EMT program hours. At the conclusion of the 16-week internship, interns will be considered for ED Tech positions at the hospital. PRN 12-24 hours per pay period The hours at the hospital apply to clinical program hours Pay: $16.00 per hour Provides practical work experience for clinical students in an environment that emphasizes patient-centered care. Provides a mechanism for exposing clinical interns to innovative/emerging concepts in healthcare practice. Provides mentoring opportunities for staff to facilitate development of teaching and preceptor skills and provides a challenging/stimulating work environment for staff. Education Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience Qualifications: 1-2 years of healthcare experience is preferred. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30-days of employment. Must be actively working toward certification/licensure in field of practice.
