Snapology Instructor

The primary focus of this position will be to teach Snapology programs. Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. Candidates should be able to commute easily to Harvard, Sudbury, and surrounding area. We are looking for candidates who are available to teach after school workshops from 2:30 pm - 7 pm, Monday - Friday (availability less than 5 days a week will also be considered.) Role & Responsibilities: Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities; Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment; Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures; Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology; Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies; Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions; Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs; Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs; Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings as required Staff will be required to safely store company property and transport them to classroom locations. This is an independent contractor position. Hours are determined by your availability and how many events you accept. Qualifications: Background checks (CORI) and child safety training is required (during training). Depending on the requirements of our partners, finger printing may also be required. 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment. Candidates with less experience will be considered for an assistant role. Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis A reliable vehicle and valid drivers license is required! Programs Available to Teach: We are currently hiring for after school programs in the Harvard, MA area for the 2025/26 school year. August) 1.5-7 hours in length (typically 3 - 6 hours per day) and occur between 9am4pm Monday-Friday Other Camps & Workshops (Holiday Break, Spring Break, In-Service Days) 1.5-7 hours in length (typically 3 hours per day) and occur between 9am4pm Monday-Friday Birthday Parties 2 hours in length and occur on Friday, Saturday or Sunday Special Events 1-8 hours in length and occur anytime This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week. Compensation: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
