Shutters Product Line Assembly Technician

Position Summary: Responsible for assembling and testing all variations of products within the shutters product line. Notifies engineers and planners of defective material or faulty operations and assists in troubleshooting. Effectively partners with team members to develop standard operating procedures and identify and implement process improvements. Uses work instructions and standard operating procedure to train others. Proactively identifies disruptions in workflow and partners with engineering and other departments to resolve them. Duties and Responsibilities: Solders and/or welds typical and atypical components as specified Assembles multi-element electro-mechanical systems Identifies the need for assembly fixtures and suggests the form or solution to maximize efficiency Uses measurement devices such as calipers, verify products meet blueprints, quality specifications Visual inspections on final shutters for any nonconformance Maintains a current inventory on all stock, housings and mounts Uses the computer to input and delete inventory data Meets the criteria for completion times of assemblies posted Analyzes returned parts and suggests and/or implements corrective action Helps other team members with troubleshooting and aids in training Performs other duties as required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Read blueprints and drawings Demonstrate attention to detail Consistently meets or exceeds production targets Analyze and problem-solve, and demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills Manage time efficiently Follow oral and written instructions Demonstrate a working knowledge of PC's and various software such as word, email, databases, spreadsheets, and the current CVI tracking system Working knowledge of algebra and trigonometry, including ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Communicate efficiently, relating instructions and information clearly, providing feedback when instructions are not clear Ensure consistency in assembly procedure Perform repetitive tasks requiring exacting and continuous mental and visual concentration in a consistent manner Credentials and Experience: One year direct technical training with electrical or related subject, OR Minimum of 4 years of directly related work experience Prefer J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 Certification Physical Requirements: Efficiently transport fragile materials within the assembly area Inspect components for scratches, defects, and other possible problems before assembling Ability to operate computers, hand tools, and use fine motor skills for assembly. Visually determine and differentiate colors Bend as is necessary for lifting from waist, knees and neck to inspect optics and maintain assembly area Manipulate papers and fragile parts into and out of packaging materials, grasp, wipe, press, push, and pull safely use sharp instruments, and operate testing equipment Twist and turn wrists and forearms continually to perform production and inspection procedures while grasping small objects Safely use sharp instruments and operate testing equipment Lift up to 30 lbs. independently Additional Requirements: Certain positions with IDEX Corporation and its business units require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. Total Rewards The compensation range for this position is $40,300.00 - $60,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
