Survivor Mentor
My Life My Choice, a survivor-led program of the Justice Resource Institute working to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children is looking for a Survivor Mentor to become part of our team. At My Life My Choice we believe that no individual should be bought or sold. Our team provides a range of survivor-led services including survivor mentoring, intensive case management, group work, mental health services, exploitation prevention programming and solutions, and advocacy. Over the past 20 years, we have served more than 3,300 youth and trained more than 21,300 providers in Massachusetts and nationally. Pay: $48,000 per year Sign-On Bonus: We offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment. As A Survivor Mentor, You Will: Provide one-on-one support to adolescent mentees in Eastern Massachusetts. Participate in comprehensive training to effectively mentor adolescent mentees (regardless of gender) who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. Collaborate with fellow My Life My Choice team members to create tailored support services, educational resources, and placement plans for each mentee. Work together with external service providers, including law enforcement, to enhance the safety of each mentee and facilitate prosecutions when appropriate. Document each interaction with your mentees consistently and thoroughly. Access training and professional development opportunities to thrive as a survivor leader. Have the chance to co-facilitate exploitation prevention groups for youth. Why JRI? Be who you are! Personal history as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation as a child, adolescent or young adult. A minimum of five years of recovery from sexual exploitation (having exited the commercial sex industry). Applicant residing in a Massachusetts community north of Boston preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. A positive mindset and belief in the possibility of recovery from commercial sexual exploitation.
