Assistant Director, Financial Reporting
The main function of this position is to provide general accounting and reporting support to the accounting office under the guidance of the Assistant Controller, and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure financial accounting and reporting information adheres to generally accepted accounting principles Collaborate on new areas of consideration that would impact the university's financial statements and financial ratios Participation in the completion of annual tax returns (990, 990-T) Collaborate with departments across campus to communicate complex accounting information in an easily understood manner Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and AVP/Controller to analyze, monitor and report on financial and operational data used by the Board of Trustees, campus leadership and other external parties Collaborate with the Controller's team to ensure the preparation and accuracy of annual financial reporting and footnotes Prepare annual financial reporting surveys Maintain compliance and contractual obligations placed on funds by bondholders Initiate, review and/or approve bank services and transactions including wire and ACH transfers Review and approve entries prepared by the accountant Maintain fixed assets and capital accounting including monthly journal entries Prepare all bond related entries, including debt service and amortization Prepare daily journal entries as needed Initiate the quarterly entries and maintain schedules for leases, ARO and other assets Perform various account reconciliations including miscellaneous receivable, prepaid and other accrued Prepare monthly compensation to the Jesuit Communities Prepare reconciliation and initiate monthly Department of Education drawdowns Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in research, interpretation and application of new and existing accounting pronouncements Assist with knowledge share regarding continued improvement of the University's ERP system Work with the Controller's team to develop formal accounting procedures Work closely with management to identify and analyze financial issues and provide strategic planning efforts Participate on various university committees as needed Other duties as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required 5-7 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial reporting and/or public accounting experience Preferred
CPA and/or MBA Workday ERP system knowledge Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

This position's estimated pay range is: $89,850.00 - $102,400.00
