Part-Time Assistant Coach - Men's & Women's Cross-Country / Track & Field

Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for a Men's & Women's Part-time Assistant Cross Country, Track and Field coach to oversee the training, development and management of the Jumps group including all vertical and horizontal jumping events. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country, Track and Field program to include, but not limited to: recruitment of qualified student-athletes, coaching of meets and practices, assisting in development of championship teams while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Must be committed to and abide by the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC, and Manhattan University Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policy and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units. Responsibilities: Must be able and willing to assist in identifying and recruiting talented and qualified student-athletes and to market and promote the Manhattan University Cross Country, Track and Field program. Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes and staff. Must be a team player and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Must contribute to a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and University. Ideal candidate will have experience in and understanding of horizontal and vertical jumping events and will coach and develop these event areas. Identify prospective student-athletes in all event areas in coordination with all event coaches. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: assisting in direction of practices and meets. Support student-athlete academic success. Assist in the development of championship teams, while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, former players, faculty, alumni, and staff. Represent Manhattan University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school coaches, club coaches, and media. Other job duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. One year of track and field coaching experience or comparable competitive athletic experience. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in various environmental conditions.
