Training Consultant
Consults with stakeholders to determine training needs. Using their knowledge of adult learning theories and pedagogy, designs and develops training materials for both eLearning and ILT. Identifies and implements improvements in training curriculum and courseware using standard testing methods, needs analysis, and methods of redesigning training programs. Maintains online training materials. Demonstrated competence in the instructional design life cycle. Salary range: $69k/yr-$80k/yr Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Assess, plan, design, develop, and implement engaging learning solutions, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), microlearning, and blended learning programs. Ensures accessibility (ADA compliance) and usability standards in learning solutions and adheres to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. Creates detailed storyboards and scripts that outline text, voiceover, sound, graphics, and instructional elements to guide the development of engaging and effective training materials. Provides support in ensuring access to training content to appropriate audiences and according to established timelines within the LMS. Partners with leaders, clinicians, and administrative staff across Autism Services to analyze job tasks and provide most appropriate materials related to specific job duties. Manages the review and revision cycles of assigned projects. Facilitate train-the-trainer programs to ensure consistency in instructional delivery. Reports on task and deliverable completions. Conducts quality assurance testing of produced content. Designs, conducts, and evaluates post instruction outcomes using current learning evaluation methods. Ensures consistency with established course design strategies. Collaborate with Autism Services leaders to identify role-specific competencies and leverage learning systems to design tailored training programs that align with job responsibilities and facilitate targeted growth. Qualifications
Education: BA/MA/MS degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences or related field valued but not required. Experience: 2 + years experience in Instructional Design, Training Development, and/or Learning Management preferred, and experience in healthcare, autism services, or behavioral health settings is valued. Experience designing and developing learning content for diverse learners. Experience working with LMS platforms (e.g., Relias, Workday Learning, Docebo), authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Storyline) and web-based design tools (e.g., Canva). Experience collaborating with clinicians and designing learning for healthcare settings strongly preferred. Familiarity with healthcare, autism services, or clinical training methodologies is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proven advanced knowledge of Instructional or Curriculum Design. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess training impact and adjust strategies accordingly. Proven advanced knowledge of eLearning strategies including but not limited to courses (e.g., processesand technologies). Proven advanced knowledge of the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery ofengaging and media-rich online learning content, and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educationaltechnology and learning. Advanced knowledge and applied understanding of learning theories, instructional methodologies, anddesign. Proven advanced knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript in the building, testing, and troubleshooting ofeLearning projects preferred. Knowledge and experience working with Learning Management Systems (Relias & Workday preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice andFederal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) and/or program requirements. Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC. Ability to pass a post-offer medical examination and a TB test.
