A DevOps/Platform Engineer at Tangram Flex provides support to our software development team, leveraging DevOps best practices and Cloud-Native technologies to deliver a suite of applications and services. Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: Work with software engineers to improve software delivery workflow for our cloud-native applications. Ability to triage, improve, and repair code automation pipelines. Use cloud-native tech, AWS GovCloud, and Kubernetes to provide engineering/IT services to the engineering team, such as Gitlab, Okta, Nextcloud, etc. Identify and evaluate tools to adopt to improve Platform Team workflows. Leverage DevOps best practices in a team-based environment, such as Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and alerting tools, such as Grafana/Prometheus. Create and execute backup/restore/disaster-recovery plans for services. Evaluate software architectures for security concerns and steward the security posture of engineering teams. Identify opportunities for improvement via AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Claude Code, AskSage, AWS Bedrock, Ollama, etc. Desired Skills & Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in a similar industry role such as software deployment, software engineering, DevOps or DevSecOps. Possess a current/or recent U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 6+ years of experience in software deployment, software engineering, DevOps or DevSecOps. Demonstrated proficiency with AWS (or alternate), Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux/Bash scripting. Ability to travel to prospective and existing customer facilities. Ability to work flexible hours. Preferred: Experience with other scripting tools: Python, JavaScript, Go. Familiarity with container/dependency scanning tools, software bill of materials, etc. Experience with AWS, AWS GovCloud, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm. Familiarity with Gitlab, Nextcloud, Okta, Prometheus/Grafana. Preference is given to candidates with AI/LLM adoption. Strong preference given to candidates with Kubernetes certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS). Experience securing workloads for use in public-sector or DoD environments, such as IL-5, FedRAMP, CMMC, or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Ability to travel domestically by air, car, or other transportation methods. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours/day). Ability to lift and carry lightweight items (e.g., laptops, demo equipment, marketing materials) up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, using a mouse, writing, and handling equipment. Visual acuity to read detailed technical documents, view computer screens, and operate software systems. Auditory ability to participate in meetings, customer demos, and conference calls, including in potentially noisy environments (e.g., trade shows or military facilities). Mobility to move between office spaces, customer sites, conference venues, and manufacturing or lab environments. Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments (e.g., corporate offices, government buildings, industrial or lab spaces).
