The Operations & Facilities Management Department at WashU Medicine is committed to delivering a comprehensive range of services to support the medical campus. We oversee maintenance and operations for 65 buildings, covering more than 11.1 million gross square feet of space. This includes the 11-story, 609,000-square-foot neuroscience research building, which houses one of the world's highest concentrations of neuroscientists. Our responsibilities include operational and administrative support, strategic planning, and project management. Furthermore, as the School of Medicine continues to expand its presence both on and off campus in areas such as teaching, clinical care, and research, our team remains instrumental in ensuring the seamless delivery of clinical care, advancing research initiatives, and facilitating educational endeavors. Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Canvas' areas of responsibility daily. Assess the thoroughness and quality of floors on campus. Provides floor maintenance services to the campus. Performs daily cleaning services to customer and public areas and floor care as assigned. Performs major floor maintenance tasks, including stripping and refinishing, scrubbing and topcoating, and burnishing. Performs major floor maintenance tasks, including carpet extraction, spotting, carpet bonneting, and large-area vacuuming. Utilizes vacuum cleaners, brushes, cleaning chemicals, floor finish, and other materials related to hard surface floor and carpet cleaning. Works with cleaning chemicals and understands safety data sheets for those chemicals. Performs all floor tech procedures from proper setup to proper cleanup of the work site and all equipment used for the hard surface or carpet cleaning project. Working Conditions: Works in different locations that may involve late-night hours. May be required to work weekends or modified hours. 3rd shift schedule is typically SundayThursday, 10:00 PM

6:30 AM. Physical Effort: Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, heavy lifting, and prolonged standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Will be required to frequently work in a bent-over position, often on hands and knees, in the process of preparing floors for cleaning. Requires a great deal of walking within assigned areas, including going outside from one building to another. Required Qualifications
