The Saint Joseph's Psychology Department is home to a highly productive group of scholars and teachers, and the Psychology major is one of the most popular on campus. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors who can staff one or two courses each semester on an 'as needed' basis. These courses may be offered weekdays, evenings, and/or on-line. Adjunct/affiliate faculty are expected to teach the course(s) they have been assigned, prepare course materials, and provide support and guidance to students. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct one or two courses each semester. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and the evening, as well as on-line. Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph. D. or a Psy. D. in Psychology. Under some circumstances, a Master of Science or a Master of Arts degree in Psychology may be acceptable. Under some circumstances, an advanced degree in a discipline other than Psychology may be acceptable. Applicants must have teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph. D. or Psy. D. in experimental or clinical psychology and have substantial university-level teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are flexible in their availability, and can teach during the day, as opposed to exclusively in the evening or exclusively on-line. Duties and responsibilities are: Teach the course(s) they have been assigned Prepare course materials Provide support and guidance to students Submit grades In addition to meeting all scheduled class sessions, adjunct faculty are expected to offer one hour of office hours each week for each course.
