As a part of SNHMC Surgical Services, the Endoscopy unit has multiple procedure rooms where staff perform between 12-28 outpatient (80%) and inpatient (20%) procedures per day. Procedures include GI, pulmonology, and outpatient bone marrow biopsies, with most patients receiving anesthesia. The team works flexible shifts and take call shifts to provide care on an emergent basis to our community. As a member of the Patient Care Services Team, the Charge Entry/Health Unit Coordinator manages the Endoscopy patient admission and registration process and facilitates patient flow. The Charge Entry/Health Unit Coordinator performs post-case data entry and captures and enters charges. The Charge Entry/Health Unit Coordinator audits and makes recommendations regarding documentation and billing. The Charge Entry/Health Unit Coordinator contributes to the inventory management process. The Charge Entry/Health Unit Coordinator works under the direction of the Clinical Manager. What You'll Do: Manages the patient admission and registration process. Facilitates patient flow Performs post-case data entry. Accurately captures and enters charges. Audits and makes recommendations regarding Endoscopy record documentation and billing. Contributes to inventory management Performs other duties as assigned. Who You Are: High School graduate or GED required. 1 year Customer Service experience required. Medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to achieve the following competencies: Within 30 Days
Proficiency with: Use and operate office equipment. Post case data entry Registration Within 90 Days
