Belt Coordinator- Sufco Mine
The Belt Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all belt conveyor systems at the mine, including installation, maintenance, advancement, and retreat, to ensure efficient and safe operations. Key responsibilities include: Planning, directing, and monitoring all activity for run-of-mine belt, mainline and panel belt conveyor work. Coordinating support work of belt crews with appropriate mine management. Responsible for attaining optimum level of operating availability and cost efficiency for CM and Longwall production activities. Recommending and implementing improvements in equipment and maintenance methods. Conducting meetings and organizing training to improve overall belt availability. Setting goals, priorities, and standards through communication and cooperation with all departments. Recommending conveyor belt equipment selection/modifications. Playing an active role in contracts, equipment specifications, warranties, and price negotiations. Approving conveyor belt/drives material and supply orders to an authorized approval level. Implementing all safety policies and procedures related to an injury free work environment. Developing, implementing, and monitoring cost reduction plans and productivity improvements. Preferred education and experience include: Demonstrated successful underground coal mining supervisory experience. Ten years underground mining experience with a background in CM, Longwall and general conveyor belt work. A comprehensive understanding of CM and Longwall mining methods. Good planning and organizational skills. Strong leadership ability. Current Utah Mine Foreman Certification. MSHA Electrical Certification preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communications (oral and written) skills. Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are required. Position reports to Production Manager.
