The purpose of this job is to prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns. This role will report in-person to our Knoxville, TN office File state and local sales tax returns Generate supporting reports Reconcile general ledger balances Provide internal customer service related to W-9 and exemption certificate completion Assist with sales tax audit including data gathering and contract/invoice review Respond to State and local tax notices Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies and procedures Complete other duties as assigned Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in accounting, finance, or other business-related field Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Alteryx) Specialized Knowledge Sales Tax Accountant II level or above Proficient to advanced Microsoft Office skills Experience with Vertex, PDI, Alteryx, and Right Angle software Competencies Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Bachelor's degree required Minimum one-year sales and use tax return preparation experience preferred Specialized Knowledge Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Vertex O Series and Returns experience preferred Basic accounting preferred Competencies Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Overnight travel required is up to 5% General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time Able to lift up to 30 lbs. Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed
