Fleet Leader
As Fleet Leader for Action Resources, you are responsible for growth and development of a profitable successful transportation operation of the driver fleet. Oversee the coordination and management of loads to remain cost effective as a company. Fleet leaders collaborate with all Sr. Fleet Leaders and drivers based out of all existing markets with primary focus on their assigned market. Duties and responsibilities include: Focus on managing key areas of operations: safety, service, revenue, assets, and costs Leading the recruiting and hiring of drivers, managing their performance and behavior Enthusiastically implementing and supporting all company quality and safety improvement efforts Interacting with customers both internal and external in a cooperative friendly manner; insisting on the same level of cooperation from the driver force; ensuring quality customer service Serving as the company liaison for customers, resolving issues, responding to inquiries, identifying new business opportunities, and appropriately growing existing business Willing to understand and support change, as it relates to processes, structure, and business modeling Managing the retention, recruitment, and hiring of drivers; treating drivers fairly, respectfully, and honestly Coordinating daily terminal activities: customer order acceptance, data entry, asset management, schedule preparation, and accepting accountability of meeting dispatch & terminal specific operating objectives Collaborating and supporting the sales team in managing existing, targeting, and supporting new business opportunities Ability to effectively handle or escalations and time critical issues, perform transactions in a timely and accurate manner Identifying process breakdowns and developing improvement plans with partners to resolve Serving as the first point of contact for the driver fleets work issues, problems, and troubleshooting Taking an active interest in self-development and focusing on learning the details of our business in preparation for potential roles of greater responsibility Abide by and provide feedback for continuous improvement of all EHSS policies, procedures, and safe work practices Duties and responsibilities as assigned by Lead Fleet Leader Experience and skill requirements include: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the transportation field preferred 1-3 years' experience fleet leader experience Experience in the transportation field preferred Familiar with Transportation Management Software (ie: TMW, McLeod) Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) Excellent written and oral communication skills Business and leadership competencies include: Being a servant leader to your fleets and customers Teambuilding skills and the ability to drive change Strong analytical and problem solving skills Coaching and development skills Strong supervision, planning, coordination, negotiations, and employee relations skills
