Floor Covering Installation Instructor

NHTI-Concord's Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in contract teaching at the College in a classroom and on job site setting; strong instructional background is preferred. The focus area is floor covering installation (carpet, resilient, hardwood, and tile). Minimum Qualifications: Education: An earned associate degree or certificate from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Or High School diploma or GED with minimum of journeyman level certification and/or Master certification preferred. Minimum of 3 years of flooring installation experience and current knowledge of the field. Computer/Technical Skills: Internet, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Zoom. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with classroom teaching. Higher education or workforce teaching experience in the flooring installation field. Scope of Work: To coordinate course, course delivery and program activities for non-credit Floor Covering Installation at NHTI. The position is a contractual, temporary position for a specified contract period with potential to continue into future semesters. As a member of our skilled trade faculty, your responsibilities will include: Teaching program-specific content in-person, following established curriculum guidelines. Preparing instructional materials, conducting labs, and administering tests. Creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters student growth. Providing guidance and encouragement to students, preparing them for successful careers in the floor covering industry. Maintaining effective communication with students and staff. Conducting lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities both in-person and online. Aligning instruction with course objectives and submitting grades, attendance, and reports in a timely manner.
