The Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered. Responsibilities: Must have basic knowledge of the job of a Cath lab nurse as in preparing patients for catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations. Must assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations processes. Must keep patient calm and relaxed during procedure where they're required to be awake. Must administer appropriate medicine when needed. Must be able perform proper after procedure care. Must check vital signs of the patient with proper care. Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Experience: Critical care experience preferred. Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing experience highly preferred. Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), required. Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing. American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the Tidelands Health Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years. ACLS preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation required. Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills. Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
