Methods Engineer
Walter USA in Greer, South Carolina, is looking for a Methods Engineer in our state-of-the-art air-conditioned facility. The Methods Engineer supports, develops, and improves manufacturing and related processes by studying product and methods. They improve the processes in order to gain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, maximize profitability, and develop best practices. What will I be doing? Assess ability to manufacture and propose suitable production methods or processes for all assigned products. Complete manufacturing analysis of proposed product for production. Active role in following project timelines for new product introduction, production ramp-up plans and system changes. Interact with manufacturing personnel to establish methods or processes. Build routings and develop cost for new products, assortment expansion and any current changes required. Align SAP setup to current methods/processes within routings. Collaborate with other departments to standardize procedures following company guidelines. Use of analytical tools to understand and drive method/process changes. Exchanging and learning experiences with other subsidiaries. Obtain quotes from outside subcontractors, which may involve distribution of manufacturing drawings. Systems programming that includes but not limited to: CAPP, SAP, EPLM, CAD, Project system (MAR), CNC Production equipment. Investment recommendations with analysis of financial pay-off. Completion of IARs for new equipment. Optimize machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency and process repeatability. Support Coating operations to ensure quality and efficiency. Monitor Coating processes and standards to ensure compliance with specifications and quality. Identify manufacturing cost reductions. Plan, execute and manage projects to complete through product continuous improvement. Your Profile: 5 years of recorded work experience in manufacturing, in a carbide cutting tool related field.
