The Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive activity program that stimulates the interest and capabilities of all residents. This role is also responsible for enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing opportunities for socialization, stimulation, and enjoyment, thereby promoting their overall physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Essential Duties and Functions: Develops and administers comprehensive programming opportunities, including recreational, educational, and social activities Identifies needs and activities for IL/PC residents and uses volunteers to develop and support robust program opportunities. Identifies individual needs of residents based on strengths, interests, preferences, identity, diagnosis, and medical history of the resident. Plans and implements individualized interventions for residents across all levels of care. These interventions may be part of the referral process, 1:1 visits, co-treatments, or nonpharmacological interventions for addressing physical or behavioral needs; recreational, educational, social, goal oriented, and will be included in care planning when applicable. Coaches residents to discover, develop, and fulfill their inner purpose through mentoring and facilitation of unique and enriching programming opportunities, representing the six dimensions of wellness; Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Occupational, Physical. Established collaborative relationship with members of the community to support programs and provide recommendations; involved in planning and facilitating intra-community programs to strengthen relationships between residents, family members, staff, and external organizations. Facilitate group activities as noted on calendar of recreational activities; including discussion groups, culinary, craft, outings, etc. Communicates opportunities throughout the community to residents, staff, and family members, encourages resident participation and involvement, and tracks participation. Reaches out to residents recurrently; uses coaching methodology results to identify individual needs and desires. Responsible for documentation of interventions. This includes documentation of attendance, participation, and progress notes when applicable to track resident development and identify needs. Documentation may also be used for reporting or auditing purposes as needed to measure effectiveness of interventions and compliance with regulations. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications: Minimum 1 year experience as an activity coordinator in a senior living environment or in an educational environment. Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred CPR Certification preferred Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken word and sentences, and the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
