Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Operator located in Auburn, MI (USA). The Associate Operator operates industrial mixers, mills, presses, and drum tumblers to produce and package advanced silicone materials. The Auburn team is driven to be Dow's best. This is an entry level position for Operations at the Auburn site and successful candidates will be expected to progress to more advanced operator roles within the Auburn Site as they develop the necessary skills and experience. Responsibilities: Producing, packaging and labeling products for our global customers using industrial mixers, drum tumblers, mills, and presses. Recording production data with SAP. Preparing raw materials for operations. Manual additions of raw materials to mixers. Safe operation of a forklift or other heavy equipment. Works with shift team members and other shift teams to leverage skills and knowledge to balance workload ensuring assigned tasks are completed by due dates. Conducts effective shift relief, as defined in facility specific operating discipline and tools, to ensure effective communication and handoff to arriving shift team. Maintains qualification in assigned areas, per facility policy, and completes training goals in a timely manner. This includes using discretionary time to address skills and knowledge gaps. Your Skills: Occupational Safety and Health: Wearing personal protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols are essential. Mixing / Packaging / Labeling Systems: This is directly mentioned in the responsibilities, such as producing and packaging products and affixing labels. Forklift Operations: Safe operation of a forklift or other heavy equipment is a key responsibility. Teamwork: Working in collaboration with various departments and rotating through different responsibilities requires strong teamwork skills. Basic Math: Basic math skills are often necessary for tasks like material additions, inventory control, and packaging. Computer Literacy: Demonstrating basic computer skills, such as using Word, Excel, SAP, Teams, and Outlook, is preferred. Time Management: Able to effectively prioritize and plan your work for the day with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements: Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. Stand/Walk for most of your 12 hour shift. Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders. Work in tight and closed in spaces. Qualifications: A minimum of a High School Diploma is required. An Associate's Degree in Process Technology or related field is preferred. 3 years or more of relevant military training/experience with a High School Diploma will also be accepted. Must be 18 years old or older. Must have a current, valid US driver's license. Willing and able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends) and work overtime when needed. Successfully complete a background check and pass a drug screen if job offer is received and accepted.
