Quality Assurance Technician

The Technician, Quality Assurance will be responsible for sampling, inspecting, testing and acceptance or rejections of finished products, raw materials and work in process. The Technician will also be responsible for the issuance of product adjustments to ensure all products meet requirements. This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required. Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Samples, inspects, conducts standard testing of, and accepts or rejects finished production and work in process Samples, inspects, conducts standard testing of, and accepts or rejects incoming raw materials. Issues and records formula adjustments to optimize finished product properties. Assist and support SMS field personnel with any questions regarding product performance or behavior and when necessary, provide product modifiers to combat environmental conditions. Conducts non-standard testing on raw materials, finished product and work in process where required. Records all test results in a computerized format in a timely manner and charts said results where required. Maintains the cleanliness of all aspects of the laboratory and equipment on a daily basis. Maintains a good working relationship with other department and communicates all results in a timely manner. Records all instances of nonconforming material. Other Duties & Responsibilities Roles and Responsibilities for Safety team leader. Maintain and improve the ISO quality system and participate in ISO audits. Audits and Inspections. Performs other duties as assigned. Perform routing Environmental Health and Safety audit and activities. New operator training. Work with R&D department to support new product development. Minimum of two years in a laboratory environment is required. Must have adequate computer skills and comfort in Microsoft Office programs. Mathematical calculation, estimation of optimum formula adjustments and impact. Performance of a wide range of laboratory test procedures. Development and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and maintaining the QA system to ISO standards. Acceptance/rejection decisions, balancing of multiple priorities and confidentiality of product formulations. Education:

High school diploma required, some college is desirable with emphasis on advanced math and science. Working Conditions:

Day Shift. Various physical testing equipment, ovens, furnaces, balances, molds, personal computers. Continuous movement between laboratory (controlled environment); and plant which may have some areas of non-controlled environment. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work in a plant environment, work in a safe manner, with excellent performance, attendance, and some OT. Safety Equipment:
