Faculty - Non-Tenure

This one-year non-tenure-track position includes teaching in developmental, first-year, and intermediate composition; contributing to curricula and assessment; and participating in departmental, college, and university service and governance. This position may include teaching face-to-face and/or online. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, Technical Communication and/or Professional Writing, Creative Nonfiction, Public Administration, English, or other related discipline Preferred Education and/or Experience Prior composition teaching experience with an emphasis on first-year students Experience teaching to a range of student backgrounds and learning styles Organizational, written, and oral communication skills Professional writing experience Online or hybrid experience Job Duties and Responsibilities Teaching in-person and online Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community Participate in department, university, and community service and governance including service on the department's Composition Committee, as well as assessment and professional development Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Teaching experience in a college setting Ability to teach composition courses face-to-face and online Appreciation for the variety of student backgrounds and learning styles and a commitment to student retention and success. Additional Information Salary information: commensurate with education and experience.
