Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal or Sr. Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA or Oklahoma City, OK within the Palmdale Vehicle Engineering organization. Responsibilities: Designs structural products and components of products. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and technical applications such as CATA V5. Develops layouts, sketches and blueprints. Investigates design factors such as damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Details related structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices. Validates conformity to design standards and specifications. Identifies design errors and other deficiencies, and recommends changes. Basic Qualifications: Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer include a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR an MS degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience OR a PhD in STEM Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Engineer include a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR an MS degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience OR a PhD in STEM and 3 years of related experience This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access (Program Special access not required to start). Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
