Assistant Director Of Alumni Engagement - Gies College Of Business
As an integral member of the advancement team, this position will develop and support meaningful and impactful engagement opportunities for Gies College of Business alumni. Responsible for creating systems, processes, initiatives, and approaches that maximize alumni engagement in support of the strategic priorities of the college and foster lifelong connections between the College and its alumni, donors, and friends. Position is located in Champaign-Urbana area with remote opportunities. Duties & Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with all advancement office staff, Gies College of Business departments, centers, programs, and units to conceptualize, organize, and manage broad-based and individual alumni interactions. Through regular interaction with units, ensure that College activities in alumni engagement are strategic and closely aligned with the College's goals and priorities. Increase data sharing efforts between units and Alumni Engagement and facilitate the improvement of the alumni database. Document and enter engagement data and activity in alumni database. Build and establish college alumni volunteers and facilitate opportunities of interaction with the College in ways which align with the strategic goals and priorities of the College and deepen alumni relationships with the college and other Gies alumni. Coordinate activities related to the planning, execution and management of College, alumni, and advancement events as assigned. Duties require some occasional travel. Manage relationships with College alumni groups, committees or boards to facilitate opportunities for them to engage with the College in ways that align with the strategic goals and priorities of the College. Collaborate with the Advancement Communications and College MarCom teams to develop relevant and effective marketing related to planned activities. Collaborate with digital communications staff to support community building and engagement on relevant digital and social media platforms. Represent the Gies College of Business on campus committees, and in interactions with the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Other related duties as assigned to further the mission of the unit. Specialty Factors: Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in event management, alumni engagement, advancement, or constituent engagement. Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience in non-profit sector or higher education advancement. Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to represent an organization with key constituents. Ability to function effectively in a large, decentralized environment. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Knowledge of TED or other advancement CRMs. Appointment Information: This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search close date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. Remote work options may be available for this position; however, must be available to be onsite at the University of Illinois Urbana campus based on operational needs.
