The Training Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive training program across all laboratory functions. This role ensures that all laboratory personnel are effectively onboarded, trained, and continuously developed to meet operational, quality, and compliance standards. The coordinator will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), supervisors, and quality teams to deliver structured on-the-job training (OJT), develop training materials, and use performance metrics to guide training priorities. This role requires high attention to detail, awareness of the sensitivities of working in a laboratory environment, an engaged work ethic as part of a high-performance team, and communicating in a manner that is conducive to effective working relationships. Position Responsibilities
Design and maintain a structured training roadmap for each laboratory role. Maintain a training plan with a long-term perspective (meet with team leaders regularly to ensure training compliance). Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the laboratory. Organize, update, and optimize laboratory curricula within LMS to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with training objectives. Manage the review, data entry, and proper documentation of OJTs within LMS. Coordinate and facilitate OJT sessions, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal standards. Partner with SMEs to deliver specialized training modules. Understand philosophy and techniques of training facilitation and ability to communicate training effectively (Train the Trainer mindset). Lead onboarding programs for new laboratory staff, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles. Monitor progress of new hires and provide feedback to supervisors and trainees. Analyze laboratory performance metrics, error trends, and audit findings to identify training gaps. Perform periodic reviews of trained colleagues and departmental trainer assessments for their area. Communicate training schedules, expectations, and updates clearly and effectively. Participate in agency audits/answer auditor questions about training and standards. Ability to work and train others with hazardous materials in a controlled manner by following proper gowning procedures, all SOPs, and safety guidelines. Continuously improve training methodologies and procedures to reduce errors and incorporate CAPAs. Participate in deviation investigations and help recommend training related CAPAs. Education, Experience, and Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, chemistry, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience. Hands-on experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory, specifically with wet chemistry testing techniques. Capability to work independently and manage tasks to meet deadlines. Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of guiding teams or projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. In-depth knowledge of HPLC systems and experience using EMPOWER software. Preferred Candidate Qualifications
Familiarity with cGMP and standard production protocols. Demonstrated ability to deliver training on SOPs, OJTs, laboratory equipment, and documentation. Experience in developing, organizing, and maintaining training materials and documentation. Physical Position Requirements
