Retail Loan Servicing/Consumer Processing Representative
Note: We are filling one Retail Loan Servicing/Consumer Processing Representative opening at the credit union. This position could be based at various Beacon loan servicing locations in Indiana with available office space. This currently includes offices in Wabash, Warsaw, Auburn, Marion, Peru, Rushville, Seymour, Salem, Crawfordsville and Washington. Role
Responsible for post-close activity for all mortgage and consumer loans, including payment research, taxes, special payments, payoffs, escrow analysis, and lien perfection. To work closely with member center staff and members to research loan issues and process service requests with an emphasis on superior member service. Major Duties and Responsibilities
Books and funds loans on the core system, including post-closing activities for property tax monitoring, mortgage recording, PMI activation, optional mortgage application, and pre-authorization transfers. Reviews final documents for accuracy and completeness according to guidelines, policy, and regulation. Monitors and processes mortgage file maintenance requests, including modification requests, payment processing, payoffs, releases, and escrow maintenance and corrects rejected and unapplied payments. Reviews all recorded mortgages and final title policies for accuracy. Establishes new consumer loans on loan origination and core systems ensuring that all data is accurately entered. Ensures all disclosures have been generated accurately in compliance with lending policies and delivered as required. Obtains and reviews all necessary documents from the member and any other applicable third parties that are required for the loan. Manages incoming calls to the retail lending department. Provides high quality member service, researching and resolving member issues through utilization of critical thinking, loyalty and servancy. Assists members and member center staff with routine inquiries and requests. Maintains exception reporting items for all retail loan types, actively working to obtain past-due items through phone calls, letters and pre-attorney involvement, working directly with members and third parties. Ensures accuracy of received documents, including, but not limited to, final title policies, mortgages, insurance and titles. Pays escrowed property taxes. Reviews reports from 3rd party to monitor delinquent taxes on all loans. Sends notices to borrowers regarding delinquent taxes and maintains ticklers for delinquent taxes. Processes all ancillary product claims, including, but not limited to, credit life/disability, GAP, DPW and MBP. Performs other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications: Three to five years of loan or related banking experience High school diploma or HSE equivalency Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel) Ability to communicate (both oral and written) using courtesy, tact, and diplomacy Excellent member service skills both internally and externally Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Extremely detail-oriented Excellent time management skills Standard position hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on a rotating Saturday (standardly every other Saturday). When working Saturday morning, this employee will have a half day off during the same calendar week.
