Truck Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet. Key responsibilities include: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty trucks and trailers Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid checks Repair and replace malfunctioning components including engines, transmissions, axles, braking systems, suspensions, and cooling systems Use diagnostic tools and software to identify system malfunctions Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, parts used, and labor time Ensure all repairs meet DOT, OSHA, and company safety and compliance standards Operate shop tools and equipment including lifts, jacks, grinders, welders, and pneumatic tools Respond to road calls or breakdowns when required Keep shop clean, organized, and safe by following all safety procedures and company policies Requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred Proven experience as a heavy-duty or diesel truck mechanic Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, drivetrains, and diagnostic systems Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain) Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if needed
