The following are required: 4-6 years of food science experience, or equivalent education Bachelor degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field (preferred) Job Responsibilities

The Product Consistency Scientist is responsible for our fermented cultured non-dairy coconut yogurt, and the development of new products within the product line, from concept to commercialization, including formula creation, conducting product trials and process validations, shelf life sensory and stability testing. This role interfaces directly with the CEO/Founder, other R&D members, Operations: Production/Quality teams, and other cross-functional teams. Essential duties include: Ability to work on microbiology & biochemistry research efforts in the areas of cultured probiotic yogurts (unpasteurized, coconut), and Beverage fermentation (Kombucha, Kefir, etc.), from lab to commercialization. Investigate and apply natural preservation techniques (e.g., bio-preservation, hurdle technologies, protective cultures). Design and execute experiments to extend the shelf life of fermented coconut yogurt without compromising safety, quality, or probiotic viability. Ability to conduct sensory analysis on products containing live/active cultures & botanicals which may or may not be GRAS certified. Optimize fermentation parameters to balance flavor, texture, acidification, and probiotic survival. Evaluate and select starter cultures and adjuncts for performance and compatibility with coconut bases. Assist the Director of R&D conduction research for formula optimization, increase shelf-life and improve fermentation process. Support validation of novel preservation methods under GRAS, organic, and clean-label constraints. Assist in the design and execution of shelf-life studies under various storage conditions. Work closely with QA to monitor microbial profiles, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and maintain documentation. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong understanding of microbial spoilage, lactic acid bacteria, and probiotic viability in refrigerated fermented products. Proficiency in design of experiments (DOE) and shelf-life modeling. Practical experience with microbial enumeration, pH measurement, titratable acidity, water activity, and organoleptic evaluation. Familiarity with natural and clean-label preservation systems (e.g., essential oils, protective cultures, bacteriocins). Self-starter with strong project management abilities, capable of leading R&D initiatives independently. Ability to work in accordance with safety and food safety policies. Additional Skills

Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to frequently lift, move and carry up to 40 pounds Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends & holidays Language: Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred) Knowledge of GMPs Must demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality and strong interpersonal skills.
