We are Magnet ® and received the 2020 Press Ganey Leading Innovator award forour rapid adoption and implementation of healthcare solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic.Use yourexpertise, compassion, and kindness to transform the patient experience.Make a difference.MakeBristol Hospital and Health Care your choice.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Clinical activitiesPerforms clinical procedures and documents results.Prepares and monitors patients.Performs diagnostic exams on patients.Supports and performs procedures within the Connecticut Gastrointestinal Institute.Performs testing and procedures in accordance with Standing Operating ProceduresUses medical data entry system and scheduling system in accordance with HIPPA guidelinesMaintains and performs quality control on equipment.Records maintenance data in accordance with regulatory requirements.Maintains an orderly and clean clinical and working environmentQualificationsQualificationsEducational / Minimum Requirements: LPN with 3-5 years experience, preferred, inperforming advanced gastrointestinal procedures.State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements:Current State of Connecticut registration as Licensed Practical Nurse.Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements:General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs asmandated by the Hospital.Special Requirements:NonePhysical Requirements: Physical agility with repetitive occurrence including but not limited to:walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, standing,sitting and twisting.Lifting greater than 50 lbs throughout the work day.Looking at computerLPN - Connecticut Gastrointestinal Institutemonitors for up to two hours per day.Vision acuity correctable to normal with normal colorperception; hearing acuity correctable to normal; acute sense of smell for normal perception.Ability to converse so that the average person can comprehend.Work Environment: Regular exposure to patient elements, occasional stress.Cognitive Requirements: Provides direct care according to the established patient plan for care.Carries out a wide variety of treatments, procedures and examinations requiring professionaljudgment and initiative.Allowing for reasonable mathematical ability, administers prescribeddrugs orally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intravenously, as qualified.Must be able toconverse at a high level with physicians, government officials, research experts and colleaguesDisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work beingperformed by people assigned to this classification.
