VEKA
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to safety requirements and informs supervisor of any unsafe situations
Verifies product line, along with properly banding, sealing, and bar-coding racks, bundles, crates and/or boxes of finished products
Visually inspects profiles for gross defects, surface defects, and general appearance
Notifies Extrusion Operator Technician, Supervisor, or the Quality Assurance Inspector of any quality problems that are in question or occur
Lines empty racks with fascia, side protector, and plastic as needed
Pushes fill racks of material out to be sealed in specified packaging units
Transports finished products and/or scrap to designated area
Sets up empty racks on rack dollies and transports new racks to floor
Sets up scrap Gaylord boxes and replaces those that are full
Measures, cuts, and builds wood packaging units and delivers them to the running extrusion lines for VEKA crating units
Completes crates for VEKA decking and fencing with wooden tops and cardboard in addition to sealing and banding the crates
Maintains proper housekeeping of assigned work area including but not limited to emptying the trash to ensure a safe and clean work environment for you and your co-workers
Assists extrusion operators including but not limited to packing profiles neatly and properly according to VEKA's packaging standards; fills in for breaks as needed
All other duties assigned
Skills:
Good organizational and communication skills
Ability to act independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and drive to take initiative
Dependable and punctual
Aptitude to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
Ability to read tape measure, use saws, pneumatic nail guns, and various other hand tools
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required or previous work experience
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to Shift Supervisor
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move objects up to 50 pounds
